Johnny Mowlem will look to secure a second straight American Le Mans Series podium as Corsa Motorsports gets set for its second outing with its hybrid-powered LMP1 car.

Mowlem and team-mate Stefan Johansson took third place on the cars first run under hybrid power last time out at Lime Rock and will hope for a repeat this weekend at Mid-Ohio.

However, while another trip to the podium remains the aim, Mowlem said the team was keen to continue development to allow it to take the fight to the Acura factory squads.

“Obviously the podium finish was very satisfying,” Mowlem said. “Still, we have a lot of development work to do yet and third place, although great, certainly still leaves us with more steps to take.

“Revolutionary as it is to challenge the best teams in the world with an internal combustion engine/electric motor hybrid combination, we can't just think of it that way. We have to develop this car and power package just as we have all developed some new concept at different stages of our careers.

“It has required a great deal of teamwork and effort from the Corsa Motorsport team and as much support from all our other partners as possible.”
