BTCC pair join Tech 9

Tech 9 has completed its driver line-up for the 2008 Avon Tyres British GT Championship, where the team will field a brace of GT3-spec Lamborghini Gallardos.

Former Motorbase Performance driver Tom Ferrier will join the previously announced Oliver Morley in the #8 Gallardo to continue his relationship with the Liverpool-based squad, while Dave Pinkney will move over from the BTCC to partner 2006 GT3 champion Leo Machitsky – another driver with past experience of Tech 9 – in the #9 car.

"An exciting prospect lies ahead of us, not only a new car, but we have drafted in two new drivers in Oliver and David," team principle Phil Hindley said. "I have known both of these guys for a number of years and I know that they have both the pace and experience to mount a Championship campaign.

"It will be a tough challenge, as the cars have been delivered to us very late, so our normal pre-season preparation has not been to our usual standard, but initial impressions of the Lambo have been positive and I think that we should be able to mix it with the hoards of Ferraris.

"I am pleased that Tom and Leo have continued with us this season, as last season was a tough one for us, but the spirit and drive of our crew is stronger than ever and will ensure that our current status as the most successful current entrant in British GT will continue to deliver the results that we strive to achieve."
