Hall takes early lead in Sunoco Challenge

Stuart Hall has taken the early lead in the race for the Rolex 24 at Daytona Driver Challenge presented by Sunoco following the opening rounds of the British F3 and British GT Championships at Oulton Park.

Hall, who took a double win in the British GT Championship alongside team-mate Dan Brown, secured 240 points from the weekend after snaring a double win, pole position and fastest lap.

That puts him ahead of F3 double winner Daniel Ricciardo and Rollcentre team-mate Brown, with F3 racers Walter Grunmuller and Nick Tandy fourth and fifth after they both took double podiums at the Cheshire circuit.

“I now have two ambitions for this season,” Hall said after the weekend. “Obviously, the first is to win the British GT Championship, because that was always the main target, but after yesterday I have this thought in my mind that it would be a massive bonus to win the Sunoco Challenge because it is such an amazing award.

“I finished fourth at Le Mans in 2007, so I know what 24-hour races are about, and it would be fantastic to race and, hopefully, do well in the Rolex 24 At Daytona, which is another of the world's great 24-hour races.”

The Radical UK Cup contenders for the Challenge will have the chance to open their account when they race this weekend at Rockingham.
