Stark Racing confirms entry plans

Stark Racing has confirmed that it will return to the Avon Tyres British GT Championship for the 2009 season.

The team campaigned a single Ginetta G50 in the GT4 class last season with a number of solid class finishes and also secured an encouraging result in the Britcar 24 Hours at Silverstone – with a top ten overall finish and fourth in class.

Following the decision to allow the G50 to continue in the GT4 class in 2009, after earlier plans to move it to the Superlights class, team boss Ian Stinton has now confirmed a full-season entry has been lodged for the year ahead with one seat still available in the car.

Interest in the seat is believed to be high from both the UK and abroad, with a decision likely to be finalised in time for the annual British GT Championship media day at Silverstone at the end of March.

“It's great to commit to another season of British GT,” Stinton said. “The race format is a winning formula and we are looking forward to another great year.”
