A field of 16 cars looks set to take part in the opening rounds of the new Avon Tyres British GT Championship this weekend at Oulton Park.
The field will be headed by nine cars competing in the GT3 class, with Ferrari, Aston Martin, Mosler, Dodge and Ascari all set to be represented, with the prospect of the Team RPM Ford GT and a series of Lamborghini Gallardos joining the fray later in the season. The season-opener is also due to be the first outing for the Invitational Class entry of Barwell Motorsport with its Zytek-powered Ginetta G50Z.
Five GT4 cars are also set to race in Cheshire, with four Ginetta G50s going up against a lone Aston Martin N24, while the opening two races of the new season will also see the series debut for the KTM X-Bow run by ABG Motorsport – which will also be the first car to compete in the new Super Sport Class.
