Camier expecting tough Knockhill fight

Leon Camier is hoping to extend his advantage at the top of the ViSK.com British Superbike standings at Knockill following his success jaunt on the World Superbike stage a week earlier.

Camier heads to Scotland with a substantial 55 point advantage over James Ellison overall, the Airwaves Yamaha rider having now won eight of this year's ten races, including each of the last four.

Coming just a week after he finished sixth on his World Superbike debut as a wild-card at Donington Park, Camier is determined to maintain his strong form, even if he admits there will be strong competition around one of the calendar's quirkier circuits.

"I'm not a huge fan of short tracks, but I've always liked Knockhill. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us and be consistent throughout the weekend. I'm expecting the Honda's to be strong right from the start. I know Hydrex Honda has tested there recently. I'm sure it'll be a fun fight to get on to the podium.

"I've been training really hard throughout the season so fitness won't be a problem, even after three back-to-back race events. It's still early days in the Championship so it's important to keep focused and keep bringing home points for Airwaves Yamaha."

Team-mate Ellison, meanwhile, will have 'The Kendal Massive' coming to support him at Knockhill and he is eager to do them proud.

"Knockhill is like another home round for me. My mum's from nearby, so I should have a lot of family supporting me. My friends, 'The Kendal Massive', will also be there. They travel around with the BSB circus, cheering me on. Knockhill's been good to me in the past and it's a circuit I've always enjoyed.

"I think the Airwaves Yamaha should work well there, so I'm looking forward to it. This past weekend at the World Superbike Championship we've learnt a lot, putting us in a good position for the rest of the British Superbike season. I've still got some work to do to improve tyre wear over a race distance, but we're heading in the right direction for some strong results this weekend."

This should be tougher for Leon this weekend because the Hydrex boys and Josh should be strong and so should Rutter. No doubt he will finish in front of James in both races though
