Super sub Rutter keeps points ticking over

Michael Rutter was satisfied with his performance on his return to the MSS Colchester Kawasaki team, the experienced rider securing a top ten finish in the third and final race of the weekend.

Competing with his fourth different team – and manufacturer – this season, Rutter was called up to replace the injured Simon Andrews shortly before the start of the weekend, the multiple race winner settling in well to feature around the top ten throughout practice and qualifying.

Continuing to show a similar kind of form in the races, Rutter would finish the event with tenth and eleventh place results, although he was forced to retire from the second race of the weekend.

Indeed, Rutter was pleased with his efforts having had barely any time to prepare for the weekend.

“I'm reasonably pleased with my performance this weekend bearing in mind I've never ridden the bike before and I rode a different bike every session! It's never easy jumping from bike to bike and team to team but the lads here have been fantastic and hopefully I've managed to give them some strong data and feedback.”

Team-mate Julien Da Costa, meanwhile, continued to consolidate his tenth position in the overall standings after posting an identical set of results to Rutter.

“I have been struggling this weekend with front end feel as the fuel load gets lighter but we made some good progress with this in the final race. I'm looking forward to Cadwell Park - at last a circuit I have already raced and won on.”
