Linfoot lined up for BSB debut

Supersport front runner Dan Linfoot is set to make his British Superbike Championship debut as Silverstone after being called up to replace Jon Kirkham on the Node4 Yamaha.

Linfoot currently rides a Rob Mac Racing prepared, Node4-backed Yamaha R6 in the British Supersport Championship, the 21-year-old impressing in his rookie season by taking three podiums in the first four races.

However, with an injury at Snetterton ruling him out of the title fight, Linfoot has been offered the opportunity to get some Superbike mileage at the final two BSB rounds at Silverstone and Oulton Park.

Having already tested the bike, which has been ridden by Michael Rutter, Kirkham and Karl Harris at some stage this season, Linfoot is looking forward to making his bow.

"We have talked through the year about getting a blast on the Superbike and with the Supersport championship over for me we might as well get on with it!I can't wait, I have had a few tests last year and a couple on the new bike this year and to think now I will be going for it on Sunday with the big boys it'll be amazing.

"It has been my goal to get into Superbikes and now I have a chance, it's a big jump straight into race weekend and I am more than up for it"
