Andrews quickest at damp Oulton

Simon Andrews moved to the top of the timesheets during third free practice at Oulton Park, as damp weather put the majority of riders off venturing onto circuit.

Cool and damp conditions made things particularly slippery during the 25 minute session, prompting just 13 riders to set a time, while the likes of Karl Harris, James Ellison, Glen Richards and Chris Walker remained in the pit lane.

Andrews did make it out, however, going eight tenths quicker than Sylvain Guintoli, while Howie Mainwaring made a welcome appearance towards the front with the third fastest time.

Josh Brookes and Ian Lowry followed, ahead of Leon Camier, the Airwaves Yamaha rider getting back on track following his heavy crash during FP2.

Superpole begins at 11.50GMT today, with the first of the weekend's three races also taking place this afternoon.
