I saw the whole thing happen and without being biased I can say that Brookes appeared to be travelling very fast on the inside line and he was struggling to slow down enough to take the corner. The Honda snaked about before colliding with Guintoli's Suzuki as Sylvan turned into the corner. Perhaps the brake lever of Guintolitis bike was snagged because the Suzuki went end over end and Guitoli was thown with the bike. There were also some white flames from the Suzuki as it went into the gravel trap but they soon stopped.

Get well soon Sylvain. This season has already been tainted with far too many injuries that have put riders out for the foreseeable season - Hopper, Neukirchner, Laconi and now Guinters.

Lets hope it ends here.

I think it was a very unfortunate accident, i dont know how it happened but to those who say it is imposible for his brakes to work, fail and work again are wrong. The chances of it happening on a siting lap are slim as they arent at race pace but when the bikes pick up the front wheel (as they very often do!) it can cause the bike to shake when the wheel makes contact with the track again, this often happens and is recitified by a steering damper. The side effects of it happening are that the shaking of the front wheel can push the pads back and therefore the brake travel is totally different at the next corner! i am not saying it is the reason but it is possible...

Accidents do happen in the heat of the race, but I cannot think of this happening on the sighting lap of a major championship ever, Brookes is nothing short of an idiot.. Then trying to lie his way out of it??? Pretty bad in my book... and wrecked the championship.. I couldn't defend my favourite rider after what must be one of the most stupid mistakes ever..
ps Guinters did torpedo The German but at least it was in the race...

Suzuki riders have bad luck this year, first Max N in WSBK and now Guintoli!

I was hoping Guintoli would win the title :( Get well soon!

I agree with Andy.........I know Josh and no one on this planet will be feeling worse than he is. Why the nasty comments?? Have you never made a mistake at work? We all have only most of us in our jobs don't risk our lives to earn our pay or have to live with the result if it goes wrong, just like it did for Josh. Its really sad for Guintoli and neither him or Josh deserve the nasty comments when they do what we they do to entertain US!!!

I'm a Leon fan through and through but this is just a nightmare for the championship. There is absolutely no one who can possibly beat Leon to the title this season now unless he gets injured or has loads of mechanical problems. Guintoli was the only one making the championship interesting. Roll on next year when Leon is in WSB. Hope you recover back to full fitness soon Sylvain.
