What a load of to$$ers, people quickly slag riders off on here without having the first clue what goes on behind the scenes. The guy works his nuts off all year and finishes 2nd in the best domestic championship in the world. Only to be slagged off by you lot of keyboard world champs. He is a lot braver than most of the guys in the british paddock by previously taking on WSBK teams in the European Superstock championship in a transit van and winning. I won't bore you with his other achievements however it may be worth doing the homework yourselves
Well done James and can't wait for 2010

Sorry, but I don't rate James.

He came into the Airwaves team as the vastly more experienced rider, and should have shown Camier the way to go.

But Camier has just wiped the floor with him.

I wish him the best and hope that he can raise his game next year.

Only time will tell.

Colin I agree that Ellison was and is more experienced, but I think Camier is a world class rider and I have also read that Ellison struggled adapting his riding style to the R1. Got to remember he was still 2nd in the championship and beat a very stron Easton,

He got closer as year went on, look at camier people forget he was demolished by shaky last year. He got closer to camier than camier did shaky. But does he have a contract next year, presume colin wright if they get a sponcer will keep him on and hire josh brooks as colin has already said he wants him.

I'm not sure of Ellison's past but how did he get into GP if the best he's done is second in a championship to date?
I'd have thought he'd have been able to ride the R1 at the beginning of the season due to him riding a 990cc M1 in motoGP (similar big bang engine) - obviously not.

From memory James won the Privateers Cup in BSB then got the chance to ride the WCM in MotoGP. In comparision to other machinery at the time James did a great job and was given the chance to ride the Yamaha M1 for Tech 3. On Paper the deal looked good, riding a similar spec bike to Rossi on Dunlops which James was used to. However, after 3 rounds or so Mr Rossi complained the Chassis was far to stiff and reverted back to the previos seasons chassis. James had to make do with the Stiff chassis and was released at the end of the season. He then rode for Shaun Muir and Hydrex for a season and helped develop the Team and bike to where they are today. Before jumping to the Airwaves squad.

Ellison is a bum. He did a year in AMA after GPs and was totally outclassed. I think he got one 5th all season and struggle to even make the top 10. Hodgson(who wasn't exactly setting the paddock on fire) did a wildcard for the team one round and equal James best result of 5th with no testing at all - so it wasn't the bike it was James. He was not only not resigned with that team (Corona Honda which was the top privateer Honda Team that Hodgson rode for this year) but he couldn't even get a ride anywhere else so bascially he was run out of AMA.

James has won 2 European Superstock Championships, won the Endurance World Championship in 2003 and then won the Privateer Cup in BSB in 2004 then was promoted to WCM in MOTO GP, so thats how he got his MOTO GP ride.
