We met dr. Jon at Cadwell during the superbike free practice day, he was just wandering round the circuit talking to punters and asking!! their opinion of improvements already made to the circuit and what other improvements people would like to see. He came across as passionate about motorsport and very excited about superbike and motorcycling in general so before he begins his tenure with BSB can we give him a chance to prove himself, sure he is in it to make money but nobody works for nothing, this is possibly the chance to make motorcycling a recognised national sport a bit like the British championship of kicking a man in the ******** for trying, suceeding or failing(delete as nes).SKALLY

The only downside to me is that Sky have pulled out of their extensive coverage of BSB and the support races. Now I understand that ITV4 will be providing equivalent coverage - but on previous experience I will wait and see........

I really don't know whether Palmer taking over the BSB is a good thing or not for the sport and us fans.

There's no doubt it's going to be great for him and MSV but it'll be at the expense of the fans, higher prices, more restrictions, less TV coverage and generally a poorer show for the public.

The BSB is a sensational championship that needs stability, he can provide that but is renowned for his greed and uncooperativeness therefore the jury is out on how he'll develop the championship.

As long as Crash continues it's excellent coverage of the BSB it'll be fine, at least we can rely on Crash.net for superb motorsport coverage on both two and four wheels.

If what Jonathan Palmer says is is true and he wants to break down the barriers between fans of 2 wheels and those fans of 4 wheels and attract more non bikers to watch BSB that can only be good for Motorcycling as a whole regardless if you go on track days and watch a lot of racing or just enjoy the occasional ride out on a summer Sunday.

The more people who understand bikes and how they work and the freedom they can bring the better.

J.Palmer has done great things for BSB so far and if this stoped then he would be shooting himself in the foot and i can't see that happening. so to me it good news .Just hope you get the Cadwell grandstands properly policed as every year its a sham .

The television rights will be awarded to Eurosport, to be announced tomorrow, despite a substantial proposal from ITV - who were proposing to increase their coverage to five hour slots on Sunday afternoons free to air on ITV4 (as they will do with British Touring Cars) and invest heavily in the quality of the production and coverage.

Interesting about your comment on the TV coverage, can't see why Eurosport is better than ITV 4 except of course that it's broadcast all over Europe and not just the UK, that might appeal more to sponsors but most in BSB ae UK based not European, Pirelli would appreciate awider audience though.

Time will tell, good luck JP, just don't forget the fans and who's paying your helicopter fuel bill!
