There should be a wider debate about season times.
Almost every year, the first race at Brands is either cold, or wet, or both.
Equally, the final race in October suffers in the same way.
The season needs to start later, and finish earlier with less of the silly gaps during the peak of the season that we always seem to get - like 5th May, then a gap until 26th May. Or 29th June, then nothing to 20th July.
Start mid April, run an event every second weekend without gaps, finish end of September.

BSB » Heavy snow at Brands

The bad weather that hit the pre-season BSB test at Snetterton has also affected the first round of the championship.

The race should have been cancelled VERY FIRST THING this morning.
The amount of snow that fell overnight, it would be insane to even try and race.
A lot of folk will travel in really poor conditions for a non-event.

If they have got any brains the fans will look at the weather report before setting off!

One of the problems that organisers face is that tracks aren't
just used for bike meetings, there are a lot of other activities
(like Touring Cars, etc) that book circuits. Britain has a wealth
of race series all wanting to utilise a few track resources.

Also, the TT falls slap bang in the middle of the season and a lot
of teams have either riders or some form of commitment to supporting
that. You have to think that even if they DID organise a meeting there
would be fewer fans to watch it due to those events clashing.
