Hey Mr Mushet who rattled your nasty little cage? I take it you have a better record in BSB/WSB/WSS than Mr Walker? Sorry but no one has heard of you tho'. Take a break and get a life.

I seem to have joined the "dimwits club" myself - Chris Walker is in his 30's NOT 40's (as I so stupidly typed in !)

There seem to be a certain few who get more enjoyment from seeing people fail, than achieving their goals.

It would appear that some dimwits think that Walkers' career is over in his late 40's - it would also appear that the same dimwits have forgotten about Steve Hislops still winning races at the age of 41.

I would also like to remind the aforementioned dimwits, that when Walker was at Suzuki, even Paul Denning stated it was a "development year". But even then, Walker was regularly outpacing his team-mate (remember Leon Camier ?)

So for those that would rather see people fail than flourish, can I suggest you watch the "X-Factor" instead ?

What Karl does in his own time is his business but i hope he doesn't let it get in the way of his racing as i believe that on the right bike he is one of the best guys out there.

Also, back to the real point of discussion, it's great to see Stalker back in the UK and i hope he has a fantastic season!

Scoot - if that's so, then all the talk about returning home for personal problems kinda stinks, as it was made out that something was wrong with a family member, or at least something feasible. I hope Shaun Muir can get Bomber under the kosh and bring out the best in him, otherwise it'd be a massive waste of talent.

race craze, Im not sure mate, But all is well, I did a bit of follow up digging today, Karl failed the initial drugs test at brands Hatch, He then went for a second test some time later( How much later is the question) and passed, Hence the no ban and no press release.
So in Effect he is not Guilty.

He was certainly the equal to Hodgson, and Hodgson stuck it to top WSB regulars on the Ducati. No reason why Walker couldn't have made just as big an impact on the 750, perhaps even more so given the Ducati's advantage.

Still, those are all could've, should've, would've, if's and maybe. We'll never know.

I'd be surprised if Walker is getting paid that much by Rob Mac - he has a history of not paying riders (remember Hissy).

Jo

True about Valentine helping to sort the bike, although Sykes did have an aggressive style like Walker, but towards the end of the season he showed signs of smoothing out his style, no doubt helped by the bike development. However I'm still not convinced Walker would have got as much from the bike due to his style - but we'll never know.

Catweazle - I agree that racing is a job and bills have to be paid, but if he'd gone to WSB with Crescent then he may never have had to take rides like Petronas as he'd (probably) not have had the soul destroying year with Shell Honda and he'd have been able to build his confidence, which could have led to who knows what in WSB...

Petronas was not a good team to be in if you wanted to win it's true, but if no one offers you a decent ride then you go where the money is. Racing is an occupation, as well as a way of life/career. Bills still have to be paid, and you get used to a certain standard of living. I am not so sure that some of CW's decisions in the past have entirely been his own. I think perhaps he used to listen too much to other people about what he should/shouldn't do. Whatever happens next year, BSB should be more fun to watch with him in it, and the pressure will be off because no one is really expecting him to do that well are they? I hope the Yamaha suits him.

Did ya notice how Sykes had the same tyre issues at the start of the season? Difference being Big Jack was then the team manager and they did something about it! Walker's problem was also noted by Hodgeson when he rode it, but Simon Buckmaster just seemed to ignore the prolem. Walker just needs some luck, who wouldn't have signed for a team with an NSR500, running the same spec as Rossi's bike (ha ha), over the suzuki team who couldn't decide where to go?
