BSS: Westmoreland goes wild at Donington

James Westmoreland, sixth in the 2009 British Supersport Championship after four rounds, has been granted a wild-card entry for the Donington Park World Supersport event on June 26-28.

Westmoreland, who rides a Triumph 675 on a shoestring budget for his own JW Racing outfit, is hoping to showcase his and the team's talents with a strong display alongside the fastest 600cc riders in the world.

"This is a massive opportunity for myself and the whole team to step up to the challenge of the world championship,” he said. “It is no secret this is where I would like to see my career heading so to race with the best riders in the world would be a awesome opportunity.

“I know we have a very good package to have a good weekend. As much as I am looking forward to riding at this level I am very aware of how hard it will be, and my focus is on round five this weekend at Snetterton, then look forward to Donington and the World round," said Westmoreland.
