Ellison eager to 'put pressure' on Camier

James Ellison plans to keep piling the pressure on team-mate Leon Camier in the fight for the 2009 ViSK.com British Superbike title, despite losing further ground at Snetterton.

Camier won both races in Norfolk to extend his advantage in the standings to 55 points, with Ellison following him with a run to fourth and second to otherwise consolidate his provisional runners-up spot overall.

Ellison was particularly disappointed with his performance in the first race however when, having led briefly towards the beginning, he eventually slid back to fourth.

“I was a little bit upset after the race one when I dropped down to fourth, because I know we could have finished second or even won it,” he told Crash.net Radio. “I felt comfortable leading the race, but the Hondas were passing down the straight and then holding me up in the twisty complex, so it was difficult to keep my rhythm going.

Losing out in the second race too, despite setting the fastest lap, Ellison admits he needs to put more pressure on Camier if he is to begin making ground on his team-mate.

“[In the second race] I put some pressure on Leon in the second race, but he had a little more in hand overall. I just have to keep the pressure on him.”

Keep up the good work Village, its a long championship and I'm well impressed with your approach as your improving all the time. I think you have the perfect amount of aggression and only use it when necessary which is the best way. Roll on weekend
