Camier back on top at Knockhill

Leon Camier, the leader of the ViSK.com British Superbike Championship, led the way again this morning at Knockhill in the third and final practice session ahead of qualifying.

Camier, fastest in Friday first practice before rain in the afternoon session, completed 20 laps in total on his Airwaves Yamaha, his best effort a 49.277 second lap - the fastest lap to date this weekend.

Karl Harris, as has often been the case in practice this season, was also right up there and on this occasion 'best of the rest', only 0.018 seconds off P1, while his Hydrex Honda team-mate, Stuart Easton was third.

MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Simon Andrews shined again and was fourth, despite a wrist injury.

Andrews ended up just 0.009 seconds off Easton, while HM Plant Honda duo Glen Richards - fastest in FP2 - and Josh Brookes rounded out the top six.

Brookes completed only 9 laps after crashing out and bringing out the red flags. He was uninjured in the off, but missed the rest of the session.

Further down the order Julien da Costa came in seventh, although he posted the same time as Brookes, followed by Chris Walker in eighth and 'sub' Michael Rutter in ninth.

Gary Mason, the runaway leader of the Mirror.co.uk Cup – the race within a race for Independent team and riders, was tenth – and the best of the Cup candidates, with SMT Honda's Jason O'Halloran and James Ellison, Camier's Airwaves Yamaha team-mate, eleventh and twelfth respectively. Ellison was 0.364 seconds off the top time.

The Swan Combi 50 Roll for Pole now follows at 14.30 hours [local time].

More to follow then...
