Camier quickest at Silvertone

Leon Camier resumed his position at the head of the timesheets during second free practice at Silverstone, the championship leader getting the better of James Ellison this time.

Having been out paced by his team-mate in FP1, Camier stamped his authority over Ellison after 15 minutes before reducing his lap times over the session to complete the day with a best of 1min 25.781secs.

Although Ellison was within a tenth of Camier until the closing stages, his Airwaves Yamaha counterpart's late effort was enough to put half a second between them.

Stuart Easton was once again third fastest, three tenths behind Ellison, but four tenths up on Simon Andrews, the Kawasaki rider making a marked improvement between the session to be fourth best.

Tommy Hill continued to creep further forward on the Hydrex Honda in fifth, marginally ahead of the man he replaced Karl Harris, the SMT Honda rider doing a fine job in sixth position on his first outing with the team.

Ian Lowry continued to impress on the Relentless Suzuki in seventh, while Josh Brookes, John Laverty and Chris Walker also reprised their roles inside the top ten.

Newly crowned champion Gary Mason continued to lead the way in the Cup reckoning, in 12th overall, while Michael Rutter was 13th and Alastair Seeley on the 'Evo' Relentless Suzuki was 15th.
