Jetalliance down to one at Zolder

As expected, Jetalliance Racing has announced that it will take just one car to the final European race of the 2008 FIA GT Championship season at Zolder.

The team was left with plenty of work to do on the #36 car following the last round at Nogaro after Jiri Janak – called into the team for the weekend in place in team owner Lukas Lichtner-Hoyer – went off into the wall and severely damaged the front of the car.

With only a fortnight between races, the team proved to be unable to turn the #36 around in time and as a result, Karl Wendlinger and Ryan Sharp will race alone in the final European event of the year.

“The car will be rebuilt,” Lichtner-Hoyer said, “but it just wasn't possible in that short a time. A real shame, because I was really looking forward to this race. However, things like this do happen; that's racing.

“I'm convinced that both Karl and Ryan will really rev it up once again. A podium finish should be realistic. If it's good enough for the top step, I'd be even happier, of course.”
