Sutton excited ahead of FIA bow

James Sutton admits he can't wait to make his debut in the FIA GT Championship after being called into the CR Scuderia line-up for the final European race of the year at Zolder.

Sutton was named as a reserve for the team in the Spa 24 Hours but will now get the chance to race the GT2 Ferrari 430 in Belgium with team boss Chris Niarchos unable to compete; as was the case last time out at Nogaro.

British GT racer Sutton will join up with Tim Mullen in the #55 car while Andrew Kirkaldy and Rob Bell will again share the #56 entry as the team seeks to end the European leg of the year on a high.

“I'm really excited to be racing with CRS at Zolder,” Sutton said. “I drove the GT2 Ferrari at Spa and, although I didn't get to race, I did enough to know that it is a fantastic racing car so I can't wait to get stuck in.

“I haven't raced at Zolder before but I've been around it in a road car so I know where all the corners are. It seems like a good track, apart from a chicane in the middle that seems a bit out of place. I hope I can go out there and help the team continue its current top form.”
