Ellis collects Ford GT3 honour

Less than a week after being honoured by the BRDC, Bradley Ellis has collected more silverware at the annual end of season FIA awards ceremony in Monaco.

Ellis travelled to the principality for the awards, where he was awarded the Ford Manufacturer Cup as the highest placed Ford driver throughout the season.

The 21-year-old finished fourth overall in his first full FIA GT3 European season, although he remained in contention for the crown right through to the rain-affected season finale in Dubai.

“It's great to receive the Ford Manufacturer Cup in such a historical motorsport setting as Monaco and at such an awesome venue,” Ellis said after the ceremony in the Hotel de Paris. “It would have been nice to be here to collect the championship-winning trophy, but it's still an honour to receive the Ford Manufacturer Cup as there were some really strong, and experienced, drivers racing for Ford this year.

“It's been a fiercely competitive season, so it's nice to have earned this recognition.”

Ellis' efforts also contributed to helping the Swiss Matech GT Racing team to capture the FIA GT3 European Championship Team Trophy.
