With his options seemingly reducing in the IndyCar Series, Mario Dominguez is to join the K plus K Motorsport team for a test session at Lausitzring later this month.

The Mexican raced for the Pacific Coast Motorsports team last season but his chances of a return seem to have been hit by a rumoured link-up with Rubicon which would see Buddy Rice secure the seat.

As a result, Dominguez will now head to Germany at the end of the month to test with the Saleen squad, which has already confirmed Karl Wendlinger, Ryan Sharp and Adam Lacko as drivers for the upcoming FIA GT Championship season.

"I am delighted to test for K plus K Motorsport with team mates like Karl, Ryan and Czech driver Adam,” he said. “I would definitely like to race in the FIA GT Championship together."

Team owner Karel Kubu said he was pleased to give Dominguez the chance to test the car and was looking forward to the opportunity to work together.

"I am happy to put Mario in one of my cars for these three days of testing,” he said, “and I hope for a strong future together.”
