Barwell to contest Spa 24 Hours

Barwell Motorsport has confirmed that it will enter its Belgian GT Aston Martin DBRS9 into the upcoming Total 24 Hours of Spa.

The team will run the Aston Martin into the G3 class of the race, with the car's owner/driver Eddy Renard being joined at the wheel of the car by Jeffrey van Hooydonck, Koen Wauters and Julien Schroyen.

It will mark Barwell's second entry into the race, having finished twelfth in 1999 with a Honda Integra when the event was for production touring cars.

“We have already proved that the DBRS9 is an extremely quick car around Spa,” Barwell MD, Mark Lemmer said, “and are confident of being in the hunt for the GT3 pole.

“Finishing the 24 hours will certainly be a very interesting challenge, and we are really excited about the opportunity we have.”
