Audi will be represented at the Total 24 Hours of Spa after the Phoenix Racing team confirmed it will enter an R8 LMS into the event.
Marcel Fassler, Henri Moser, Alex Margaritis and Marc Basseng will share driving duties in the car, which will run to the same specification as it did in the 24 Hours of the Nurburgring earlier in the year.
As a result, the car will run as part of the G2 class unlike the majority of GT3 cars in the race, which will contest the G3 class.
"Our goal is to compare the competitive ability of the Audi R8 LMS with that of the new generation GT1 cars, such as the Ford GT and the Nissan GT-R, which will take part in the FIA GT1 World Championship in 2010, " Dirk Theimann, Phoenix Team Manager said.
