Crash.Net F1 News New Williams to miss first test 18 January 2013 Williams has announced that its 2013 F1 car won't appear in the opening test of the year after confirming the launch date for the FW35.
The Grove-based team will reveal the car on 19 February at Catalunya ahead of the second group test of the season – making it the first team to confirm that its new machine won't be on track for the Jerez test, that runs from 5-8 February.
Instead, the team will run the FW34 for the first on-track session of the year with a number of key development parts fitted ahead of the launch of the FW35.
The car will however run in its 2013 livery for the Jerez test.
Williams will field a new line-up this season, with test driver Valtteri Bottas moving into a race seat alongside Pastor Maldonado.
