Krohn Racing has returned to the track for the first time since the January test days with its Grand-Am Rolex Series Lola Chassis, with two Pontiac Lolas hitting the track on the first day of testing at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The two-car team, which took a fourth-place finish in the Rolex 24 at Daytona using its older Riley bodywork, is expected to compete the remainder of the season with the Lola.

The car had been due to debut in the round the clock season opener but an accident for Ricardo Zonta during the test days at Daytona meant the team put off the debut of the new car to the second round of the year.

“We've done a lot from the Daytona Test until now,” driver Nic Jonsson said. “We worked it through a test programme since the car is brand new. We need to go through a lot of parts to find the sweet spot on the car, and that's what we're doing today and find what pieces we need to pull back. Tomorrow we're going to do more testing, but today is sorting out the different parts.

“The guys have done a lot of work [from the January test at Daytona until now], and it's definitely better already in this first round. I'm really excited with the car because I think its going to be a great car once we get through all of the pieces that we have.”
