TRG has announced the signing of Brian Silas for January's Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Silas, who made his debut in Grand-Am competition back in August at New Jersey Motorsport Park, will be appearing in the 24 hour event for the first time as he looks to expand his road racing resume in 2009, with a number of races in the KONI Challenge Series also planned for next season.

"I'm really excited to be back with TRG," he said. "TRG has the best prepared and fastest cars on the grid, their hospitality is second to none, and they're simply everything I look for in a team.

"The Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona is the type of race that every driver should experience. After my KONI race with TRG, I knew that I wanted to be back with them in 2009. They do a great job, and their history at the track speaks for itself."

Team owner Kevin Buckler said he was pleased to bring Silas onboard for the race and added that he was confident that the stock car racer would get the job done.

"Bryan did such a great job for us in New Jersey,” he said. “We were all very impressed. The original goal was to get him some valuable road course experience for his upcoming ARCA race, all of this was new to him. It was slow going in the beginning but his progress continued...and continued...

“We recently tested the more powerful GT cars with Brian at Daytona and by the third day Bryan was turning lap times comparable with many of the seasoned road course veterans. We were all just thrilled! He is a positive young driver with a great attitude and tons of potential."
