Conquest Racing has announced that it will make its Japanese race debut in September's Indy Japan 300 at Twin Ring Motegi, having signed a deal to run Kosuke Matsuura with backing from CLICK Securities Inc in the end-of-season 'flyaway' IndyCar Series event.

Matsuura, who will drive the CLICK-backed #34 Dallara, is no stranger to the IndyCar Series, having made his debut back in 2004 and gone on to claim rookie of the year honours at both the 88th Indianapolis 500 and overall for the season, but has not raced in the category since unification after his main sponsor switched camps to back rising star Hideki Mutoh. His three years in IndyCars saw Matsuura make 64 starts for Super Aguri Fernandez Racing and Panther Racing, with a best result of fourth place from the Michigan race in 2007.

“I am very happy to be able to announce my entry in the Indy Japan 300,” Matsuura commented, “I would like to thank CLICK Securities Inc for supporting me for this race, and Conquest Racing for welcoming me into their team. It's been two years since I last raced in the IndyCar Series, but I will be 100 per cent prepared and put in my best performance during the 200 laps.”

Matsuura is likely to replace Alex Tagliani for the Motegi event, with the Canadian only making sporadic appearances in the 2009 IndyCar Series since Indianapolis.
