Duno won't be penalised

Dreyer & Reinbold's Milka Duno will not be stripped of her license, IndyCar Series officials have said.

Duno came under fire from veteran Paul Tracy last weekend during the Honda Indy 200 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. Writing in his blog on his personal website, Tracy branded her a 'disaster'.

"I've got to comment on Milka," Tracy wrote. "She's a disaster out there and it's beyond even funny. Why do they give her a license?

"She's what... seven seconds off me, so eight seconds off of Briscoe. That means Ryan's gonna be lapping her every nine or ten laps if we're green all the way! Why do they let her drive? Why does she want to embarrass herself so bad?"

IndyCar Series chief steward Brian Barnhart told IndyStar.com though that Duno had not received any criticism from any other competitors at the five other events she has participated in this season.

He also pointed out that it was only one bad race, although IndyCar Series driver coach Al Undser Jr was sent to 'speak to her'.

"She's done a good job in those [five other events] and kept a competitive pace. She's earned her way into every event this season, and I think we're making a bigger deal [of Tracy's blog] than is necessary," Barnhart said.

Meanwhile Duno, who will compete in three of the four final events this year, defended herself by saying the car was a handful.

Seemingly then she was distracted by this issue when she delayed Justin Wilson on lap 37, when the Brit was battling with Scott Dixon for the lead.

"The most I could do was keep the car on the track. It was a nightmare for me," she added in the same report on IndyStar.com, during a break in the current two-day test at Infineon Raceway.

She is a moving chicane. No way she should be allowed to contend on the track. What happened to minimum speed rules. Citgo money is the only thing keeping her in a seat.
