Heartache for Virgo

Virgo Motorsport endured a heart-breaking end to its debut in the Le Mans 24 Hours after the #96 Ferrari after engine failure put the team out in the final hours.

The team had been running second in the GT2 class going into the last three hours of the race but the car ground to a halt shortly after the start of the 22nd hour and brought the challenge of Rob Bell, Tim Sugden and Tim Mullen to an end.

"We've got an engine problem," Mullen said. "I just can't believe it.

"We think that's it for us now and it's gutting for the team as the guys have worked so hard. The Risi guys have done a great job out front but we deserved second place..."
