Primat crashes out in #009

The Aston Martin Racing challenge at Le Mans is down to two cars after Harold Primat crashed the #009 heavily at the entrance of the Porsche Curves.

The car had already been delayed after a number of issues, and had been forced down to two drivers after Stuart Hall was excluded from the race for the incident with the Bruichladdich Bruneau Radical on Saturday.

Primat went into the tyres backwards to leave the Lola Aston Martin with extensive damage to the rear end.

While Primat was able to climb unaided from the car, there was little chance of recovering the damaged machine to the pits and the factory Aston challenge is down to two.

The Safety Car was deployed, but just as the race was preparing to go green, Chrisitan Bakkerud managed to spin the #15 on the Mulsanne and went head into the barriers.

The Dane is now trying to nurse the damaged car back to the pits but the slow-moving car is crabbing along as the field behind attempts to find a way past.
