Aston Martin Racing will strengthen its challenge on the Le Mans Series title with the addition of a third car for the penultimate round of the season at the Nurburgring.
The weekend will mark the first time that the team has run three Lola-Aston Martins in the LMS season, although the team did run all three cars during the Le Mans 24 Hours back in June.
Fresh from a second place finish in the Algarve, which retained second in the championship standings, Jan Charouz, Tomas Enge and Stefan Mucke will continue to campaign the #007 entry, while Harold Primat and Darren Turner will share the #009.
Miguel Ramos, who had previously shared the #009 with Primat and Turner, will now move over to the #008 car for the weekend where he will partner young Briton Stuart Hall, who was part of the AMR team at Le Mans.
The #008 car will be entered under the banner of AMR Eastern Europe and ensures ten LMP1 cars will contest the German race, with the ORECA team missing the event.
