Reed wins on Suzuki SX debut

Chad Reed won on his Suzuki Supercross debut with a dominate performance in the opening round of the new Australasian Supercross Championship, held in Perth, Western Australia.

In his first ride on home soil with Suzuki since 1999, the reigning AMA Supercross champion topped every session and won the 20-lap Pro Open final by over 25 seconds from Daniel Reardon, lapping up to fourth place in the process.

"That was awesome out there. It was so satisfying to see it all finally come together. This was my first Supercross race on a Suzuki so I just tried to check out and watch for lapped traffic," said Reed.

"I know these guys will step it up between now and Adelaide and I am sure the new Super Sprint format will throw up some interesting results."

Round two of the Australasian Supercross Championship will be held at Adelaide Showground, South Australia, on October 18th.
