Grand Prix of Faenza - Preview

The 2008 MX1 and MX2 Motocross World Championships will both be decided this weekend at Faenza in Italy.

Home star David Philippaerts leads the MX1 standings by an increased 14 points over reigning champion Steve Ramon heading into the season finale, where a possible 50 points are up for grabs, while Ramon's Teka Suzuki team-mate Ken de Dycker still has an outside chance of glory should he overcome a 25 point gap to the Monster Yamaha rider.

Fighting for fourth in the Championship are AXO KTM Silver Action's Jonathan Barragan and Yamaha Monster rider Josh Coppins who are covered by just four points.

After finishing on the podium at Lierop last weekend, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Max Nagl has a chance of bridging the 21 point gap to Coppins, while
GPKR's Sebastien Pourcel will be looking to repeat his double Faenza win of 2007, with the new the fuel injected Kawasaki.

Following his dominant home win in Lierop Martin Honda's Marc de Reuver will be back to action on Italian soil, on which he took victory at Mantova earlier this year.

In the MX2 class leader Tyla Rattray has been pulling away from KTM team-mate and title rival Tommy Searle for the last two GPs and will start the season finale with a 'safe' 33 point advantage over the young Briton.
