Grand Prix of Turkey - Preview

The Motocross World Championship will make its debut on the Hezarfen track, near Istanbul, during this weekend's third round of the 2009 series.

Suzuki's Ken de Dycker now sits at the head of the premier MX1 class by a single point from last Sunday's Sevlievo winner Josh Coppins, with fellow Yamaha rider and round one winner Tanel Leok having slipped to third.

KTM Silver Action's Jonathan Barragan stood between Coppins and de Dycker on the overall podium in Bulgaria and will be looking to repeat his stunning moto two pace this weekend.

After a modest start to the new season, reigning champion David Philippaerts currently holds joint sixth in the championship alongside fellow Italian superstar Antonio Cairoli (Yamaha), with Sevlievo frontrunner Max Nagl two points ahead for KTM Factory Racing.

In the MX2 class, Gautier Paulin has held the title lead since the soggy opening round and the Kawasaki rider will start round three four points clear of Bulgarian GP winner Marvin Musquin (Honda), with Davide Guarneri (Yamaha) already 15 points further back in third.
