Rossi cancels Rally GB

Valentino Rossi will not compete in Wales Rally GB, the final round on the 2007 FIA World Rally Championship, which runs from November 30 to December 2.

The former five times MotoGP world champion recently said he was '95 per cent' certain to appear in the event, driving a Subaru, but it will now not happen as his name was absent from the official entry list published today (Thursday).

To date, Rossi has done two WRC events, the first - the 2002 Rally of Great Britain - ended with an embarrassing accident on the second stage, but twelve months ago the Italian finished an impressive eleventh in Rally New Zealand.

That tells what is the question now:
"But over the last few days Mr Furasawa said to me if it is possible to cancel the rally and I said yes," Rossi added. "It is a maximum effort (for 2008)."

It's harder than ever!
