125: Talmacsi pole for title showdown

Championship rival and Aspar Aprilia team-mate Hector Faubel had taken the Friday pole, but his advantage was overturned by the Hungarian with 12 minutes of the final qualifying session to go.

Home hero Faubel fought back to trim Talmacsi's lead to 0.240secs on his Penultimate lap, but Gabor quickly responded - pushing pole back up to a confident 0.373secs by the chequered flag.

The third Aspar machine of Sergio Gadea will start alongside the title rivals, with Derbi's Lukas Pesek completing the final front row of 2007.

An interesting incident occurred with seven minutes of the session to go when Michael Ranseder suffered a lowside fall - triggering the revolutionary new Dainese airbag system, which quickly expanded to cover his neck and shoulders.
