Sepang III test times - Thursday

Fiat Yamaha, Repsol Honda and Honda Gresini, plus the Yamaha and Kawasaki test teams, were present in Malaysia this week - although, as planned, Hayden and Repsol Honda finished their Sepang test programme on Wednesday.

Valentino Rossi, fastest for the first two days, signed off early on Thursday after posting an impressive qualifying tyre time followed by a promising race simulation. The Italian was later knocked from the top by rookie team-mate Jorge Lorenzo on the Spaniard's very final lap of the day.

All four MotoGP race riders present on Thursday - Rossi, Lorenzo, Shinya Nakano and Alex de Angelis - set their best lap times using a qualifying tyre. In terms of race tyre pace, Rossi (48 laps) was quickest on a 2mins 1.437secs, with Lorenzo (72 laps) setting a 2mins 2.143secs, Nakano (23 laps) a 2mins 2.301secs and de Angelis (20 laps) a 2mins 3.574secs.

The next MotoGP test will take place at Jerez, in Spain, from February 16-18.
