Rossi 2008: The numbers

Using only Rossi's points, Yamaha would still have won the constructors' championship, by 52 points over Ducati, while Fiat Yamaha would have finished second (just 31 points behind Repsol Honda) in the teams' title!

This year and last:
2008: 9 (wins), 16 (podiums), 2 (poles), 5 (fastest laps), 373 (points), 1st (championship).
2007: 4 (wins), 8 (podiums), 4 (poles), 3 (fastest laps), 241 (points), 3rd (championship).

Latterrus, agree with you wholeheartedly about the amount of work involved and the determination that was required. Valentino is ALWAYS the threat. It appears now that Casey is another guaranteed one too. It would be better if the rest of the field could constantly up the ante to be a force to be reconed with as the dogfighting at the front should slow the leaders down until the rest of the field could join the party.
I'm hoping that the "control" tyre will make this happen. If it's just a single supplier working hand in hand with a certain person/brand we will have another 3 horse race. I don't want that and I'm sure many others don't.
