Jerez MotoGP test times - Wednesday

Full lap times from the opening day of MotoGP testing, at Jerez in Spain.

The Jerez test is being attended by Yamaha, Ducati and Honda teams, with Suzuki and Kawasaki choosing to test at Phillip Island instead.

The Jerez circuit was completely resurfaced in August; riders described the new asphalt as grippy and smooth, allowing fast lap times despite cool temperatures.

The test marks the Bridgestone debut for Tech 3 Yamaha riders Colin Edwards and James Toseland, who did not ride at the previous Valencia test.

Ducati's 2007 world champion Casey Stoner is not riding due to recent wrist surgery, while LCR's Randy de Puniet is also resting a wrist injury.

The Jerez and Phillip Island tests mark the last MotoGP track action of 2008, with the winter test ban starting on December 1. The first test of 2009 takes place at Sepang from February 5-7.
