By business as usual does that mean not paying the rent, misleading the public and operating a track that doesn't have a race track official licence. Surely such a statement would normally come from the top or perhaps Simon Gilletts head is so buried in the sand it's got stuck. British Motorsport deserves better. Drivers, teams, sponsors and fans have been thoroughly messed about for months now. Noone should believe anything coming out of Donington.

I'm not holding my breath on this one. It'll be interesting to see if the BTCC goes ahead...

It seems Donington has similar interests to the BBC, not caring about much else other than the F1.

The problem for Motogp etc is not the lawsuit but the alterations to the track where the new tunnel is. If Tom Wheatcroft is trying to get the lease back, then he will run the race himself, as he has done for years anyway. The consequences of not holding these races will be catastrophic for both parties.

The more transparent british motorsport becomes and i include ecclestone/f1 who is supposed to be english, the more amateurish it looks....nothing more than a bunch of egotists trying to play god..needs to be handed to someone who will put it before their mirror.. :)

76Rufus - would suggest you give Trading Standards a call it cant be right for tickets to be sold for events which fall beyond a day in court when the operator could be thrown out for not paying the rent and they dont have the safety permit to hold any kind of race meeting.

I wouldn't believe any statement issued by the circuit at the moment....they're not going to admit they're up to their neck in s**t are they, as that will only accelerate the collapse.

Wonder if the Download Festival is in jeopardy also?

I certainly wouldn't buy an advance ticket for anything at the venue until this episode has played out.

If you have tickets for any event at Donington or are thinking of going you might wonder where you going to watch from. At the event of nations motorcycle event a few weeks ago there was NO infield viewing area to speak of. It was all fenced off to allow work on the new F1 track and pits. If the proposed works are to be carried out on schedule I would say there is little prospect of this area being opened up this year. So reducing capacity and good viewing.
Any comments Donington?
