When Rossi loses , it's never because another rider is better than him that day...it' s always the tires, the weather, the stars...

MOTOGP » Tyre 'mistake' ends Rossi's Mugello dream

Fiat Yamaha has defended its decision to send Valentino Rossi out on a hard compound front slick, which looked to cost the Italian his eighth home Mugello victory in a row.

It was a risk, the conditions were difficult (but the same for all ofcourse).
You could see Valentino didn't have the pace after the bike switch, he rapidly lost two positions. Nevertheless I'm glad he didn't fall like in Le Mans and made it to the podium. In the end Dovizioso was also putting some real pressure on.
Was Lorenzo on the softer one then?

I for one am sick of Rossi and his team getting it wrong every flag to flag... Yes there is a lot of luck and no it is no reflection of who is the dominant rider, but most of the front runners seem to guess right. Rossi was only gutted because he knows in normal race trim he was faster than everyone else... Only been one clear weekend and Rossi won it easy...
Having said that it was his best flag to flag by far I think.

Yeah well said, cancel the rest of the races and give the title to Rossi cause he's the best anyway!

To The Morgue :
Yes Jorge was on a softer front tyre.if Rossi had made the right choice for sure he would have passed Jorge.anyway he had a good pace concidering he was the only rider in the top with two hard tyres.Fiat Yamaha team should guess it better next time because it seems that rain is following Moto Gp once again..

I didn't watch the race! Whatever maybe the reasons, two unthinkable sporting events happened today! First, Rossi couldn't win at Mugello and guys imagine Rafael Nadal knocked out of the French Open. I can't imagine more

But even then as I said earlier, it's just 1/3rd of the season...long way to go guys. I feel like 2009 season will be more tougher for anyone to win. Go Rossi Go!!! :)

it is strange that lorenzo's group makes all right decisions and rossi's all wrong. While 250 was really in scarry conditios ,moto gp started whentracks started drying and patches of dry line were alraedy there.Rossi and his race engineer with their combined experience cannot make such mistakes in coming races.I really don't understand why no one started on intermediate? or there is no such thing bike races as in F1

**** you Brivio. I would have told before the race, that if you have only 13 laps to do on slicks, hard-hard is the worst combination...

Stoner did a 2.06.7 out lap,
Rossi a 2.13.4,
Lorenzo a 2.10.5.

Retire Jerry Burgess, you're too old for this sport! That's why Rossi is struggling the past 3 years with the setup and bike-change races.

At Valentina, thanks.
In this competitive field you can't afford to make too many misstakes, you'll lose.
It is clear by now that races with a bike switch are not their forte so they should sit down and evaluate the situation.
I'm sure they will, no worries.
Ducati and Stoner didn't put a foot (wheel) wrong today, so hats off to them :)
They're superstrong in these situations.
