For Samas.

Yes, I agree that they only have one thing in common. And Marco does have talent. But Nicky has a MotoGP Championship (luck or not). At the end of the day and years down the road, he will always be a World Champion.

MOTOGP » Hayden '09 mirrors Melandri '08

Nicky Hayden scores exactly the same points as struggling Ducati predecessor Marco Melandri, when comparing same five rounds.

Hayden is long overdue for the boot in Moto GP. 2006 was a lucky championship. The luck has run out.

I've been saying for a while now that the Desmo is a "flawed" motor cycle! It's deficiencies just happen to suit Stoner's riding style. The day they "change" the bike so that the majority of riders can go fast on it will be the day Stoner drops out of the top 4 on the grid.

We've seen it too many times for it to be chance or coincidence, riders who were previously fast on other makes of bike falter on the Desmo. They didn't become "bad" riders overnight so there must be something fundamentally wrong with the handling characteristics of the Desmo.

But Duke have to change because it looks bad that out of 4 bikes on the grid only one is consistently challenging for wins.

To add to all the speculation here is my two cents worth. I would like to see what would happen to Hayden's performance if Jerry Burgess was made his new crew chief. I feel that after listening to Hayden's pre race interview for Laguna that his crew is floundering. I am not implying that they do not know what they are doing, but it is not a working relationship. Riders feed off confidence. If you have ever raced or run a racing team/machine then you know what I am talking about.

The bald one can't tell the difference between a seasons ride and a one off
Clueless indeed!!
The fact that Bayliss did ride the ducati as well as stoner is my point, why did he not get a full factory ride for a full season, is that clear enough ???

One thing about this topic is that it gets us all going. Why the hell is there so much disparity between Stoner on the Ducati and everyone else. We all have theories and opinions but not much else. Melandri is not a complete snail and neither is Hayden they should be in the top 6 on a regular basis not languishing at the back of the field. Rossi's (and team) switch to Yamaha has improved the bikes performance all the way down the field. Stoners performance on the Ducati has not translated to success for the other Ducati riders and I find this very strange. I would like to know what Troy Bayliss thinks. Where are you Mr Bayliss?

GPS is NOT banned in motogp. Only electonic ban is launch control and preemptive ban on electronic suspension.

GPS is latest generation, precise up to one meter. However, trajectory is calculated using GPS and speed (bike has accelerometers and gyros).
