"We have already sold 50 per cent more tickets than we had at this time last year for World Superbikes "

rest assured that has nothing to do with you, it's because there is only one chance to see the Brits racing at home this year.....

well done donington, nice to see the circuit back upto safe standards, the tunnel is fininshed, the run off areas put back to original, licences returned, and legal problems in hand, may not be all sunshine and flowers but nice to have a move in the right direction.

I don't trust this Simon Gillett character. He's never come across a convincing in any interview I've seen him do. I was at Donington for the British Superbikes, and there is no way on earth that he will have that place up to the same standard as Silverstone is now to host the F1 Grand Prix. He's all smiles, but ALL the facilities are woefully inadequate, the access is via a single lane road, and the parking areas ore mostly grassy fields. Silverstone is far better in every respect. I look at this Gillett bloke and see a spiv who wants a piece of Bernie's action. It stinks!

Good, I for one don't care if it's not the best in the world facilities wise, so long as it's good enough. It's a great race track with some great memories..

It's ok for many F1/Motogptracks nobody goes so the facilities are always more than adequate.. Flat tracks are naff..

Its nice to see Donington have their PR representitive 'unknown' contributing to the Crash site!
Advance ticket sales for WSB from last year wouldn't be difficult to beat...if I remember rightly the attendance was only 14000 on the day, in part due to the meetings' too close proximity to the GP that year, but all the same BSB rounds at other circuits do better for attendance than Donington does for the WSB event.
I trust that the spectator facilities will be greatly enhanced from the recent BSB round and that spectator areas will be fully re-opened? For a facility hosting international events outside of the paddock area the place remains a disgrace at the moment.

The place is a mess, even worse than before thanks to the building works.
This is precisely the reason why the event is open to ADVANCED TICKET SALES ONLY, so they can limit the numbers without any face to face arguments on the day and make sure they've got your money before you change your mind. £75 for a weekend ticket with paddock access? Sorry, but I'd rather have a holiday in the Czech Republic and go to Brno. I got two tickets for less than that!
Check the Donington Park website, there are details on there of all the spectator restrictions.

Before you buy tickets just make sure you read the Donington Park web site. There will be NO infield viewing area available for world superbikes. This has to restrict the total capacity by some considerable amount. However going by last years WSBK round at Donington when the attendance was pitiful it might not be a problem. Though as others have pointed out with this being the only UK round this year one might expect a bigger turn out especially with all the British talent involved this year.

What the hell is wrong with so many of the people who post comments? Does it make one feel superior to constantly post negative comments about a positive topic. You get to watch a race in your home country, why post some crap to dismiss the news about positive ticket sales? Why downplay the facilities? Are you so spoiled by fantastic venues and multiple races that you feel the need to put the race organizers in their place? Are you trying to make the series better?

I can only assume that you go about your day complaining about sunshine and pretty girls as well.
