Attrocious decision, just a typical last lap effort to overtake, we've seen hundreds like this at Assen. There wasn't even any contact. If this had happened on the first lap would there have been a penalty ? of course not.
Race Direction are trying to neuter the racing and make it even more like F1.

MOTOGP » Elias accepts penalty, apologises to Capirossi

Toni Elias has accepted the 20 second post-race penalty, which dropped him from eighth to twelfth in Saturday’s Dutch TT at Assen, and apologised to Loris Capirossi for taking him off track at the final chicane.

Fausto, take you're rose tinted glasses of! Elias did not have a great race today. He made several mistakes throughout the race, resulting him in losing places at least three times. However at least he did display eagerness sadly, something that can't be said for all of the riders today.

Seemed like an honest mistake to me.

It was not as if it was just him and Loris fighting and by running him wide he would get an advantage.

No, there was infact a group of riders and mistake on Toni's behalf would have meant serious consequences in the points as he would have got swamped by competitors.

We are so fond to say these guys ride on the limit and of course pushing that little harder can flip you over than. Are we to see sanitised racing? :?

Good hard move
Capirossi can NEVER be upset with ANYONE after what he did to Harada to steal a championship.
Harada should have kicked him in balls and when he bent forward knee him in the face. :-o

Has Loris apologised to DePuniet & Talmacsi for his blunder in the last chicane during the last few minutes qualifying?? His error cost them both time and nearly a serious accident.

Pot kettle black!

I doubt Capirex had anything to do with it. Elias's time in motogp is up however his penalty seemed to be more based on an emotional decision that Capi didn't have a romantic result.. Totally bizarre and I hate to say reminiscent of F1.. let's hope it's a blip and not a change of policy..

Yeah it would have been fine if he had made the move stick, but it didn't and he went flying into the grass. Capi had nowhere to go and was forced onto the grass. This dumbass move cost capi and elias a better finish.

Never can recall Capirossi having apologized for any of his actions to anyone ...

I remember how he shoved Harada out during last race for the 250cc championship .... and how he elbowed Toseland out on the last lap of Jerez 2008 .... I'm sure there's more ..

They take 20seconds off Elias for this ...
What has "Race Direction" done about about Capirossi's actions ?
