My dear Marc!
Do you know Brasil? Or Brazil, if you prefer.
This is the fifth largest market of motorcicles of the world.
Which kind of bikes? The small ones.
Just 125 cc or scooters because Brasil doesn´t have money to buy anything different.
Or even knowledge of what a Superbike is.
Honda HAS an INDUSTRY in Brasil to PRODUCE little bikes and the bigger are imported by...Honda.
Barros is not known in his own country and his father is a butcher, nothing but a very good...BUTCHER.
His father was crazy about anything on two wheels and had the dream of making a son, a pilot.
That´s the reality!
With all of these facts in mind, it´s easy to see:
Barros is a real Tough Fighter!

s fan since way back when. He has only ever really shown flashes of brillience but has beaten Rossi on a customer so respect is due. My all time favourite team was the West Honda Pons Hondas with Barros and Caperossi. Riders like Barros, Caperossi, Biaggi, Haga etc are amazing to watch. Motogp and 500s would be nothing special without these hard fighting nearly men. Reading allot of comments on this site you'd think people want to just watch rossi or stoner win by 10 seconds.

Marc, you are entitled to your opinion, but I disagree. Considering the guy came from a country with no motorcycling tradition he has been inspirational over the last 15 years. Not World Champ material, fine, but very few are. He is a true and honest racer, very popular. Maybe a little respect is deserved?!? And by the way - he is riding for Ducati this season, not Hondas, so the last part of your comment is clearly rubbish - is his Dad importing Ducatis now?

i wouldn't discount barros from getting a podium tomorrow, marc you could say the same about biaggi in 500/motogp always had top machinery but never done anything with it, i watching him at assen on the two stroke against the fours when he came through the field was amazing even rossi said he'd never seen a two stroke ridden so well.

Barros always does this. He is the most overrated rider for the last 15 years. He's had works machinery just about all his professional life and done zilch on it. He only got Honda rides cos his dads the biggest importer of Hondas into...Brazil. Useless.
