"This is what happens when gifted riders have there gift taken away, they show you how they stamp their feet and demand to be favoured again, How dare they be treated like every other rider."

How is wanting the SAME tyres being favoured or an advantage? are we talking about the same Rossi who moved to an inferior bike and won the championship twice?

one bad season for michelin and everybody has a knee jerk reaction, michelin won't take this lying down they will be back next year, i think after years of domination they just got caught out by how quickly bridgestone have come on, you don't just drop something after one bad season you work harder to get it right next season.

ive read this at MCN..
interview with nicky hayden about the one tyre rule..

“But then I hate the fact that going into a race weekend and thinking that no matter how good I ride or how good the team does with the bike if the tyres don't work we might as well stay home."

You know, we can discuss tyres here for ages
but the desicion is not ours so we'll just have to see what happens.
There are pros and cons and people defending this and that
but deciding in favour of it one race before the winterstop is madness
and i don't think they will. To short notice, for everyone involved.

Does anyone remember Makoto Tamada? He was kicking *** on BridgeStones when he was riding for Camel (on "BridgeStone" tracks I might add). After winning two races what did he do? He switched to Michelin saying it was a "more competitive tire. Now look at him! He sucks and he should have stuck with a BridgeStone. Rossi has been riding Michelin for years. The company had a bad year because it lost its over night special advantage (they had a on track tire maker machine if you remember). Now Rossi wants to jump ship? I think Michelin will adapt quickly and be back on top next session. Why would Rossi jump ship? Maybe he's playing the game he normally plays.........

Rossi has missed out on the championship for 2 years running and probably feels that the tyre situation was a major factor in him losing this year. He's already kicked Yamaha up the back side and tols them to improve for 2008 and is doing the same with Michelin.

I remember reading that Pedrosa was unhappy with Michelin for 2008 and was delaying a contract extension until he could get Bridgestone rubber - but didnt succeed.

Everyone seems to forget that all other tire manufactors were complaining about michelin when rossi was winning then the rules changed. If this is prototpye racing, let the rule go back to what it was and may the best tire win. Rossi does not change the rules, so all haters get off him.

just like when they cahnged from 990cc to 800cc, because thay had to throw a dog a bone, ducati was always fast, but still couldn't beat yamaha and honda with consistency, so they lowered the level, now they win with the change. For allhaters until someone goes to another bike and dominate..... bow down to the doctor!
