Just so the race can be televised at a convenient time for Europe.
As you say guys, disgraceful.
Ban 2 strokes because they are environmentally unfriendly, and then use enough electricity to fuel a town to hold a race! Utter hipocracy!

Hmm.. the Grand Prix circus spends all year going around the world, flying and driving thousands of miles. They spend weeks testing and racing.... and you consider a few floodlights a waste of energy!... at least the flood lights could be solar or wind powered, you can hardly say the same for the race bikes or transport.

Pete, i hate the idea too, but it has not much to do with european timing as Europe and Quatar are +/- on the same GMT ladder (2 hours drift).
