Well, if he hadn't completely trashed his number 1 bike like he did, there probably wouldn't have been a problem!
And actually, was there an engine problem at all? Nothing physically broken, or they could have seen that. Being sent back to Japan for investigation - hmmm. Sounds to me that nothing was wrong here and this is just a face-saving exercise for Rossi.

Yamaha has apologised to Valentino Rossi for the engine problem that robbed him of second place in the 2007 MotoGP World Championship - but isn't sure exactly what went wrong.

He'll be perfect .
These situations actually show how an oustanding rider gets out of them, and Rossi will, one way or the other.
the ones that have everything fall for them in place unexpectedly without much of their effort put in, cannot ever show what they are cast of in difficult situations..so Im kinda not worried about Rossi... it's no luck Morgue . dont think luck pays a part in rossi's life. in someone else's yeah, but not in his.

Yamaha should apologise to all of us for focusing everything on one rider to the detriment of everyone else and the spectacle of racing.

why are yamaha aplogising? he wouldnt of been at the back had he not crashed. the crash and the engine failure are part of racing. yamaha have had a couple of reliablity problems this year, but rossi has crashed alot too, esp in practice.

Plus there is nothing wrong with that yamaha bike, its very quick as proven by colin getting a couple of poles at the start of the year. also proven with colin being very high on the speed trap stadings at the end of this race.

VR is one of the best riders of the modern era and still one of the best on the grid - but I am getting really sick of hearing him whingeing about crap bike/tyres. If he's really serious about winning the world title back for 2008 then he needs to tell Yamaha were to stick that useless pile of shytzen. I'm sure Suzuki/Kawasaki would be more than happy to lay on a third bike with all that sponsorship money he would bring. At least he would get a decent bike/tyre combo, and if he did win it would be another piece of racing history written. Surely it couldn't be any worse than staying with Yamaha? :rolleyes:

Okay Eddy, so you're saying that Rossi just threw away his 2nd place in the championship? Right...

One of two things Fred;
Either the pain of the injury was too great to continue and/or
He had Hofmann disease and didn't care too much after losing the tile (again).
