Why on earth can we not get rid of the electronics on these bikes?? F1 has finally got it, and now we need to wait for MotoGP to figure it out...Just listen to what Dovi says in this article about the throttle control needed to control a motogp bike these days...his 250cc bike is more threatening than his new gp ride??!! bring back the slipping and sliding we first saw in the motogp era in '02 and '03. Please Dorna - let the riders ride the bikes - and the worry of a tire or bike manufacturer being out ahead of the others will be made up by spirited riders pushing themselves and their bikes to the limit - rather than being limited - these people are professionals let them prove it.

After his first afternoon as a MotoGP rider, Andrea Dovizioso declared that the Honda RC212V is easier to ride than his 250cc machine!

Motoracing is meant to be enthralling, and as a motoracing fan a i want to see incredible racing. If it's clear that something is detracting from that spectacle then somthing needs to be done about it. Don't forget that it's the spectators - whether they're at trackside or watching from home that allow professional motoracing to happen. Without spectators there wouldn't be big sponsors, without big sponsors the manufactures would be un-willing to compete. Having electronics help a rider go signifcantly quicker than without them detracts from the excitement of watching that rider having to utilise all the talent and skill he has and then some to get that fast lap or race win.

I agree with banning TC to make motogp better for us fans - but the teams who have got it working properly will save an absolute fortune because they don't crash as often. So you could argue it's safer for the riders. But there again, if your not prepared to get hurt then don't race bikes. :)

Just realised what the new Rossi-fan moaner will be going on about . . . TC !!

Surely by your reckoning, if they do ban TC, Rossi is sooooo much better than anyone else in the small field of entrants that he'll ran away with the season on any bike. But amazingly - that 'spectacle' wont be boring at all . . . :-o :-o :-o

Rossi - he's great ! But give Stoner his due . . . if only for having such a wonderful name !! ;)

No doubt that electronics is killing the spectacle that is Moto GP racing. Skill and talent is shown when a rider knows how much throttle and brakes to apply, not thinking "oh well, if i give too much out of this corner the electronics should sort it out" or "no need to release the clutch smoothly off the start, electronics will sort any wheelie mischief"

It's time to ditch the electronics and increase the capacity of these machines. Or we might as well have radio controlled bikes the way things are going.

yep ... please ban all the electronics ... and bring back the full grid ... 17 riders looks like a club racing ... i'll bet some club racing has more ...

Nope, traction control is still there in 2008.
It really proves how easy these bikes are to ride, look at the two Spanish trial champions on Pedrosas Honda,
Both never rode a racing motorcycle before, let alone on a circuit! Shows you good the electronics are,
try that on a 500cc two-stroke racer, it would stand upright in every gear!
Stoner revealed after the Assen race that his engine management system will let him finish the race so that the fuel tank will not get empty during the race, it just makes it run more economical towards the end so he will always make it.
He was quickly shut up by the Ducati people after that...
Ban electronic gadgets!

Couldn't agree more with the above comments and the other problem that no one talks about is the huge COST of these electronic bikes - the worst part of this year was only having 19 bikes on a grid (and only 5 or 6 competative). On these modern tracks so few bikes on such large areas looked dull before the flag dropped. I remember going to PI a few years ago to see a sedan car race that had 32 starters and after 2 laps there was plenty of room - 19 bikes are going to look bad on TV! Change the rules on electronics - lower the costs, gets more teams involved and gives us a better race.
